Grooming-
Coat care for the Pomeranian - I recommend brushing them at least weekly. They don't need bathing unless they get dirty or it is time for the groomers to help your dog de-shed in the Spring. If you bathe your Pom too frequently you can damage their skin and coat and remove the very important essential oils, especially if you are using anti-flea products. Combing is seldom necessary and sometimes totally unnecessary. Pomeranians love to be groomed and fussed over if you start them at an early age. Combing your dog can be a very soothing experience and quite relaxing for the person grooming.
Life Span-
Pomeranians are generally a healthy, hardy, and long-lived breed. Poms often live 12–16 years. Some very healthy Poms have even been known to live 18-20 years.
Temperament
The Pomeranian is a very active dog who is intelligent, courageous, and a loyal companion. Pomeranians enjoy walking, and are fit for apartment life. They can be trained to be good watchdogs. The Pomeranian is confident, commanding, and outgoing. Due to the Pomeranian's small stature, they need to be watched constantly around small children. Children sometimes forget that the dog is a live animal and not a stuffed toy.
They make excellent watch dogs and will sound a bark when they sense danger. The Pomeranian is lively and eager to learn and please you. They get along well with other houeesehold pets. They make wonderful companions for families with older, well-behaved children, families that are looking for a compact dog who will love them unconditionally and also make excellent companions for the elderly. The Pomeranian is a very sweet dog who adores spending time on laps or running around. Though sweet, they have lots of attitude.
