The "I need a puppy to save my life" monthly contest
Free puppy?
Pretty amazing that you are looking here huh? You have found a place where someone is actually offering something for free. I have decided to give away (that means totally free) one puppy per month. That means you have 12 chances for a free puppy. OMG, why would I give something away for free? I know that there are great people out there who would love to have one of my top of the line puppies but can't afford it. I'm looking for maybe a widow/widower who NEEDS to have a dog in their life. A single person,a handicapped person. I have been blessed with so much I have decided to "pay it forward." If you rent, I need a letter from your landlord etc.
What do I want from you?
I want something you can be sure of that.
What does Heather want?? I want to know that you can afford to feed the dog the same food the puppy is used to eating.
I want to make sure you can afford a visit to the vet. Things happen, unexpected things.
Can you promise me you can provide everything for this little dog?
DO you have a relationship with a vet already?
DO you have people who would be glad to act as your references?
If you don't already have a dog this might be up your alley. I want only those who will be blessed by a dog to apply. Send me your recommendations, why this person or You would be blessed by having a loving companion in your life. I get to pick the dog. I will pick a very nice dog each month and post the picture here along with the specifics. If I get a bunch of greedy dog horders I will not offer this. I want to be a blessing to others not be bombarded with fake emails and such. Once selected I will notify you by email of your winning the "I need a dog to save my life" contest each month. Apply each month if you would like. I will publish the winning letter along with a picture of them with the dog.
Do you know someone who needs me?
Free Puppy If you are the lucky person selected to get the free dog of the month you need to understand this one thing. If you are not local and can't come get the dog yourself and need to have the dog shipped to you. All costs of shipping the dog are on you. That means vet health certificate, airline approved travel crate, and airfare.
January had two winners.
Jennifer and little "Dusty" Jovanha and her baby boy!!

February Free Dog of the Month went to Margurite.
Her Son sent the letter and here it is.
Hello my name is Joseph and I am Marguerite son. I am writing to enter my much deserving mother in the contest for a free puppy. My mother has been though a lot in her years and i believe a puppy will be a great addition to her life. my mother is a single mother of two children whom she has raised though some of the toughest challenges in life. My mother divorced my father about twenty years ago because of infidelity. He was never a big part of either my sister or my life and quit paying child support after one year. He passed away about two years ago. My mother then remarried to a wonderful man whom helped raise my sister and me but due to a tremendous amount of pressure from his ex-wife he felt it would be easier if he was not around. He committed suicide in our house when I was eight years old. My mother now a divorced widow managed to to keep raising my sister and myself though these times all the while caring for my grandparents, my grandfather had been diagnosed with cancer, he also passed away about two years ago ( five days before my father). She raised both my sister and I on a teachers salary in south Florida. She was committed to working two jobs. One at a high school and the other at the local community college. She was proud to see that my sister was accepted and would graduate with a double major from Yale University. She was equally as proud to watch me graduate from Florida Atlantic University. About two and a half years ago I got a cocker spaniel puppy( Jasmine) which she has grown to love and is always willing to dog sit whenever I need it. She did all the research to find the best vet in the area and had read numerous books about dogs and training them just to help teach my dog. In August my mother had been diagnosed with breast cancer. Since then she has had surgery and is going though Kemo. She is alone right now since my sister moved to DC, my grandfather passed away, and I moved out but still local. Recently my girlfriends dog had puppies (morkie). My mother received a puppy from my girlfriend unfortunately the mother of the puppy never had the proper vvaccinations and neither did the puppy. My mother received the puppy at 8 weeks old and immediately took to the puppy to get vaccinated. Unfortunately it was a little to late as the puppy was diagnosed with parvo. My mother keep the puppy at the vet's office for three days while they had an IV to the puppy. it seemed the puppy was getting better and was released but was told to be careful and chances are still slim. The puppy made it home but was still weak and was not eating. My mother cared for the puppy for a few more days hand feeding it water, it was not enough, the vet decided to put the puppy to sleep. my mother was/is heart broken over this tragedy but the time with the puppy made her so happy. i have been looking for another puppy for her but can not find a small dog puppy that is not under $300. Unfortunately that is all i could spend. This month is my mother's birthday (Feb 2 groundhogs day) and I would love nothing more then to be able to give my mother a puppy. She receives Kemo every three weeks and for about 6 days after she is in pain. When she had my dog it helped with the pain as it bought her such happiness for the dog to cuddle up next to her. I know my mother would care for the puppy as she cared for my sister and myself. it would be completed spoiled, i know this because my dog is every time she watches her. i only want my mother to be happy and I know dogs always show their love and happiness.
thank you,
Joseph
We shipped the puppy to her and she is in love. Pictures will be forth coming.
MARCH FREE PUPPY
I Need a Dog to Save My Life
I need a dog to save my life,
Cause I just put my old dog down.
I really need a new doggie friend
And I’ve looked all over town.
We met his litter at 3 weeks old
In Alaska, where we were at.
But we took the female, Chewie,
He went home with Pat.
Then everything was going great
Till Abby Gail misbehaved.
Chewie got ran over and killed
When our washboard road got paved.
Fast forward a few years later
When Brandy was 7 years old,
Pat got cancer and when she died,
Brandy was never told.
Eventually he came to us
Since we’d had his sister before.
He needed us and we needed him
Who could ask for anything more?
Fast forward to 8 years ago
I left my husband. My dog and kids, too,
I told them I would send for them,
And I had them here by June.
And my little dog, too. He was 7.
Christmas Eve eve, blind and deaf,
In my arms as if to keep,
I cried as the vet put the needle
In my dog, to put him to sleep.
Now it’s been a few weeks
I have his ashes in an urn.
And I think that I am ready to give
Another doggie a turn.
I hope for a small white female
Easy to see, to carry, to hold.
I’d consider as well a special needs dog
If the truth be told.
So I need a dog to save my life
Mine died and the kids have grown.
I come home to my apartment now,
It is empty and I am alone.
Marie

MAY Free Dog of the Month

Linda is a lady who was in bad need of a new friend. She was my fathers worker
with SDS for years. I was happy and so thrilled to give her something so precious
as a new best friend. Linda- You made a difference with your job when you
worked with the elderly.

I can not believe I stumbled across your site! This could be such an unbelievable and unexpeted answer to prayer. I'll tell you my story, and I'll try not to get too long winded or emotional. I have a BEAUTIFUL family. Really the perfect family. I've been married to my best friend for almost 14 years and we have an 11 year old boy who is into baseball, football and all the rock he can listen to. We have a 7 year old girl who dances Tap, Jazz, and Ballet and would gladly marry either Joe Jonas or Edward Cullen (Twilight). I am blessed beyond measure. But, I have a gaping hole in my heart. I have needed a hysterectomy since I was 28 years old, but have put it off with the hopes of having a third child. I have spent the last 5 years resigning myself to the fact that I just wasn't going to. A year ago, when my daughter started school full time, I sadly went back into the work force so that we could afford some of the extras in life (we just bought our first house!). So imagine my surprise when I found myself pregnant! I could not begin to explain to you how happy I was. I was getting a LAST CHANCE! My husband and I decided that for my health, I would have the hysterectomy as soon after delivery of our miracle baby as possible, in my husbands words "I just don't want you to suffer any more." On May 16th, not quite three weeks ago, I suffered a uterine hemmorhage and I lost my baby. He was perfectly formed, perfectly created, and was perfectly thriving in my body, but my body failed him. He was too little to live. We named him Holden Karl. Holden is my maiden name, and Karl is my father-in-law's middle name. We said goodbye to him at the hospital on Sunday May 17th, and the grieving began. I have an appointment next Tuesday to schedule the hysterectomy. A few days ago, my sister sent me an email with a TON of pictures of little tiny doggies (mini yorkshire terriers were what was pictured), all dressed up. Bows on their little heads, perfectly combed hair, sweet little baby faces, and I nearly couldn't compose myself. I realized, that's what I needed to fill the hole. I need a little warm wiggley doggy to love. A small enough baby to bring to work with me EVERY day (I'm alone at my office, so I need the company!). A little baby that will kiss me and cuddle me and sleep in my lap. But when I started looking, I realized that it would take me SO long to save up for a baby like this. I can afford the maintenance, easily, but I don't have 1000.00 to 1500.00 or more at my disposal. Then I found you! And your free puppies! Please please, consider me for your next free puppy. I would be able to clear a day to drive to you to pick up my baby (I live in Milwaukie Oregon.), and I have a wonderful veteranarian who would take care of my new baby. I'm thinking of naming her Bernice, if it's a girl. I suppose I should stop typing now... I've already gone on way longer than I intended. Please, Please pick me! Becky
